Even things that are not relevant should not be erroneously represented.
Engine scores can be tampered with, so they should never be used for adjudicating games. That you know a hand full of engines for which this is not (yet?) a problem, is also not very relevant. Note that even Stockfish can score a badly lost position as +8.5.

That doesn't address the presented argument. Dividing a negative engine score by 10 has nothing to do with the protocol. If bogus negative engine scores really cost Elo so that tampering with the score would be "useful", then the very next step for CECP engines would be to never resign either - for the same reason, i.e. the engine score being bogus anyway.
