There are some engines in TCEC lower divisions playing with limited threads number, so being a Windows-only engine is the main reason for not playing the major events.

But but but.... Neither Chris and I have no interest playing these tournaments, besides of that these tournaments require a Linux compile, I can't speak for Chris but an untested version will never leave my desk.

TCEC is widely regarded and accepted as the World Championship of computerchess since years. And remebering the WCs in comptuerchess in the past, the TCEC is the WC, better than everything, we had so far. And Rebel is not participating.

It's a good thing there's no engine in this tournament. TCEC it will never be World Championship of computerchess. TCEC does not meet the appropriate conditions.

Remember what I have said in 2003/4 when retired as a commercial, I withdraw from the competition. No more obligations, fun is the only driving force.

I have managed to use all my 16 threads on Rebel 16.3 on Fritz 15 running on Crossover in macOS :D . Same speed of ProteusSF, now. But Rebel seems to be an abandonware, no more builds since months, so I'm no more interested on direct challenges since it's unfair :(
Chess engines and dedicated chess computers fan since 1981 :D macOS Sequoia 16GB-512GB, Windows 11 & Ubuntu ARM64.
