I would like to know how many core are used in the original Stockfish app?
I do not see a switch for 1 or 2 CPU - so it uses allways both CPU?
Under Android you can setup the cores in droidfish. Under iOS ipad app you cannot. We have to guess that it uses both cores.
With one Core the Result Would be too high. IMO the very high Scores on iPad Air have to do with the big internal cache of the iPad Air.

Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

It would be nice to see the official Stockfish iPad app being updated to allow the user to set the number of threads and the RAM to be used for hash tables. Hopefully Tord will read this thread and make these changes.

The app calculates the number of CPUs you have and start the number of threads equal to the CPU counts. So, it's 2 in your device.

1) I am happy to play with Stockfish on the iPad and get the app free!
2) I am testing engines on Windows. From this sight I need more features to control the engine:
- CPU used, 1 or 2
- permanent brain off or on
- change used hashtables
- more time controls like 40 moves in 40 min.
- permanent info of the thinking process with Time, depht, score, nodes, Main line.
None of the Stockfish Apps provide them all.

Thank you for sharing.
The result is not as good as expected as the new iPhone 6 was supposed to be 20% faster. In current case it's only 10%
Hopefully the iPad air 2 will do better than the 10% over iPad air
