Hi,
I do not mean protected, but that useless and "noisy" discussions are somehow allowed.
I am only interested in discussions which let understand things and clarify matters.
I understand these may be too technical, but after many years of involvement this is something that becomes normal I think.
Too many things which may be new for some people may be old to me as I have been involved in this field in a way or another since 1978.
Ciao

Re: Reasons of the crisis...
I think another thing that hurt CCC was discouraging enthusastic rybka fans from posting here. This led to the creation of a new rybka forum and a shift in postings there. There is also now a hiarcs chess forum (i am not quite sure of the history behind the creation of this).
People who were excited about rybka, or wanted to ask questions about rybka, should not have been punished for posting here (this was done by individuals not moderators)
best
Joseph

Re: Reasons of the crisis...
CCC is not in crisis because,
In the past, General topics were usually heavily moderated.
Tournament and matches and Programming posts almost never moderated
and still if you combine these 3 which was split during the time of software change, you will see the pretty typical CCC.
It's just that a lot of people who find that CCC is in crisis based their uninformed opinions on the happenings in general topics alone without visiting tournament and matches and programming forum.Besides I actually think that CCC is improving and getting more popular with active postings thanks to forum style that is up to date and has more features.
Regards.
