Agreed, I have seen such cases, some people have even been banned for it.
They have even put keyword ban in registration forms in sign up pages, that is for example the software would automatically ban someone who tries to register under the name, for say, "Rohan", just because they had banned someone else with that name before. Weird.
They look desperately for traffic by posting into other forums by putting in some opinion about CCC and supporting their club and inviting others to go over there, but only engine release news have been posted so far in most of the threads in gap of what seems like months between each topic.
Who are you refering by saying 'they'?? We might have a lot more posts here, but the quality is not compareable.
I agree. To me, before 2003 when I was more active, it was really helpful and nice. Much more than CCC because the traffic made impossible to follow a discussion in detail. WF had a nice pace and all discussions were civilized. Not to mention specific threads about winboard itself were unique there.

What we need is read only archive for Winboard and CCC programming subforums with working search function. I doubt that wiki can ever substitute years of past discussions.
I almost agree according to archiving the Winboard and CCC programming forum with a working search function for topic as well as authors.
Anyway, I think we should add the quintessence of the "most important" issues from archives and even historical posts from rgcc to the appropriate structure or hierarchy into the wiki - with the permission of the authors.
Again, I prefer a none profit organization like the ICGA hosting such archives - rather than private persons. Probably the wiki as well, but I really like those proprietary features like adding you tube and such stuff
If you take a look what Rémi Coulom has set up in http://www.grappa.univ-lille3.fr/icga/
I found that an amazing web application. You can walk through the old tournaments round by round or from the cross tables.
How about we trade the CTF forum here for the winboard forum ? That way losing CTF would not be such a big deal after all. We would keep the chess geeks and lose the nutters.....

And how about if you are a freak and nutter at the same time
