Yawce 0.16 vs Sapphire II FD 3 (1-0)
So far, my score is 1.5 - 0.5 Yawce.

Steve, I notice that you Sapphire II seems to play better.
Could be statistical issues due to small number of games.
Are you using batteries or AC? I am using batteries but that shouldn't
make a difference considering the fixed depths we are using.

Here the Sapphire gets its Knight in trouble and Yawce just cuts off
its space. The limited search depth is definitely the issue.

Yawce only runs for 4 seconds and achieves much deeper plies than
the Sapphire is allowed in these tests.

i have been using Batteries but as you say it should make no difference
i have the following options engaged..
Hash ON
Learning ON
BOTH BOOKS ON ..Passive and Active
Selective Search ON
Random Play ON

rather then continue with the Citrine i see you switched to the Sap II
so i imagine you suspected the results might even out

Hmmm Regards
Steve

No, I just wanted to get the Sapphire II up to 8 games. Playing
with it is faster than the Citrine! So, I did the faster work first.
Normally, I do the slower/harder stuff first. When crunch time comes,
all that is left is the easy stuff.

Our rating estimate for Sapphire II FD 3 is 1340. A larger value
than I anticipated (1250).

The next test for the Sapphire is FD 4 vs Pooky 2.7 (WBEC 1552).

I'll run tests on the Citrine for a while.

Pooky 2.7 locked and loaded

seems that this Engine does allow its TC to be adjusted under Arena
the Sap II at FD4 seems to take about 1 second per move
what TC for Pooky?

On Hold Regards

It is the same TC I said for Yawce. That will be the TC for all our
experiments on your machine. The TC adjustment is machine
specific. For my laptop it is 40/15.

This is a hoot. The Citrine has a won endgame. It takes too many
moves to make slow progress. Then, it draws.

This is level Be 8. Again, we see limited knowledge of how to handle
passers. The Sapphire II has the knowledge, thus its improved
performance.
