I like your sense of humor, guys. Some comments:

- Thanks for your kind words, Carlos!.

- I am a -bad- golf player and I amb used to 'handicap play'. I designed this test giving to the inferior engine three advantages: 1.- I use my older computer, where this compile of Ivanhoe run very well. Much faster that Houdini 3.0 Pro, as you can see from the games. (By the way I don't know the reason for this exceptional behaviour). 2.- I use Rybka 3.0 book, well tuned against Houdini and 3.- I do not limit the number of moves fo the book. In previous posts I mentioned this 'handicap advantage' for the old Ivan.

- I enjoy even games and I am enjoying this match very much -although my old computer do not!-. :D

Obviously my interest is not to prove anything such as that this excellent Peterpan compile is better than Houdini 3.0. I am not that crazy!. Only to enjoy a different and exciting test.

Thanks for your interest and comments. And for the good number of downloads of the games.

Best regards from Barcelona.

TESTING Houdini 3 Pro = 60 minutes/game. FOURTH LEG/C

and after 60 games ...

I7 975 3.33 Ghz.
4 real cores
GUI: Fritz 12
Book: Rybka 3.0
Time control: 60 minutes/game
Ponder: Off
No tablebases
50 BNG (Billion Nodes per Game for Houdini).

2010-01, Blitz 60m 0

1 Houdini 3 Pro x64_4 +13/=42/-5 56.67% 34.0/60
2 Ivanhoe B50kBx64p(x4)BO +5/=42/-13 43.33% 26.0/60

... the logic appears and Houdini 3.0 takes a clear lead.

Games 41 to 60: http://www.mediafire.com/?u2kvic7h449eckg

I'll started testing games 61 to 80.

Regards from Barcelona,

Tom.

... by the way, taking advantage of Robert's comment, I claim for Ivanhoe B50kBx64p the right to be the first engine able to survive against this great Houdini 3.0 Pro, at a time control of over 50 BNG -or 60 minutes in a fast quad- after 40 games. ;-)

Perhaps this shows more clearer how great the difference between them really is
