BigLion has been playing very well I think overall. I said this game would be no walk in the park for the forum, and indeed it is not. It has 24 hrs to ponder during the forum's move, and then 10 hrs on it's own move, so it has every opportunity to play decent moves. And without giving anything away at all, for Matthias' information, it is generally examining one to one and a half billion nodes. Although strangely in the logs this number has a negative sign in front of it now, whereas earlier it didn't....

On a chess server, I would play dxe6 and then think about it.

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

I am impressed about BigLion's stability at this extraterrestrial time control, though he is now losing fast.
The negative values are surely a harmless counter overflow.

I'd rather take it with the bishop, forse the exchange and launch a systematic attack at the black king....

nope cant say i have
i need to fill out the employment application for forum tiebreaker next game
anyway..as to the next move...

seems to me if we have any hopes of winning now we need to play a5 and try to eventually pick off a few pawns on the Qside
if we go in for the wholesale series of exchanges on e6 now we will probably wind up with this position(note..makes no difference if we play 22.dxe6 first or 22.Bxe6+ first...

[d] 1q3rk1/p1b3pp/1p1nr3/2pNp3/P1P1P3/7P/3N1PP1/Q1R2RK1 w - - 0 20

and it looks fairly drawish to me with BL having Nb7 or Qd8 or even Bd8 depending on our move

back to the current position..

[d] 1qbr1rk1/p1b3pp/1p1np3/2pPp3/P1P1P1B1/4N2P/3N1PP1/Q1R2RK1 w

22.Qa3 has been suggested as a move here but i cant find a strong reply to 22..exd5 for BL

so...
22.a5 Regards

What about Rfe1 or Rce1? I don't think white has any attack against black king. As Steve B pointed exchanging in e6 black position is cramped but solid.

If the plan was exchanging black's white bishop and it was not achieved what is the plan now?

And no rest for the forum, the voting re-opens for the next move :)
I vote for Qc3.

Best.
