Show me the post where I said that Vasik is a liar, the only liar here is you who is putting words in other people mouth....
Easy:
Dr.Wael Deeb wrote: Vas said it's a clone....

I say I don't believe Vas anymore....
Yes,I don't believe his naked statements anymore....I want a clear professional statement based on the opinion of a committee of skilled trustworthy programmers to clear this whole mess....otherwise it's a pure sample of speculation and/or false information....
Can you argue the logic in my request :!: :?:
Go ahead,be my guest....

You must know him very well to do such statements.

And how do you know he decompiled Rybka? The Rybka parts in it could come from Strelka.

The frame of Ippolit is Kaissa by Vladimir Yelin, I have no doubt about that. Kaissa is not open source. Do you think a genuine brain decompiled Kaissa to take it's UCI parser?
I don't know him very well as you say here....but when a programmer steals from Crafty's code to put it in a future commercial engine,Patriot for the record, and can't hide the traces getting caught almost immediatetly leads to the conclusion that his programming capacity is not that superior to make him produce such a strong "clone"....

I didn't even touch the case of Kaissa here, you are confusing me with someone else....

Dr.D
Kaissa/Patriot 1.3.0 was based on Crafty, but with many own things. It was discovered much after the release. Patriot 2 was a 1:1 Fruit clone with adjusted evaluation and depth. That was a quite stupid release. Without this we maybe would have never looked closer on Patriot 1.3.

And when we talk about "the person in question" we must talk about the reasons why we think "the person in question" made "the engine in question".

I don't. I can use a disassembler, and I've seen enough. And no, I'm not going to bother to post further explanations.
I am not doubting a bit your professional programming skills, your chess eninge says it all....the problem is that you've seen enough,I didn't and most probably I won't....
More opinions are needed please....

Yeah,I remember the whole affair back then and I am still keeping the e-mails exchanged with Frank Quisinsky,he was so excited about this project and when the snow melt down,he lost his interest toward computer chess and almost disappeared although I see him from time to time posting in the CSS forum....

Yes, I understand that problem. I was hoping Vas would make a clear enough statement with some explanation, but I also understand why he eventually didn't do that.

Explaining why Ippolit is a clone means explaining what makes Rybka unique.

I am sure there will be another "reaction" from Vas:
http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforu ... #pid190912

So I have some hope. Or maybe someone else makes a nice webpage with disassembly and explanations, this was eventually done for Strelka IIRC.

This is common sense,no doubt whatever,but....a few tiny fingerprints here and there won't reveal the full secret of the mighty Rybka....
