First we need intial test results from the new Doch as a base number for the customized settings. Using the same format, engines and time controls.
Perhaps a test suite like noomen suite? Find engines within the ballpark of Doch strength ( say 50 elos stronger then Default Doch) Engines which are strong in all of one of these areas like best tactically, positionally, endgame, unbalanced positions. Pick 4 or 5 engines or else take forever to test
One personality per person, have a post dedicated to this in this forum Doch Personality Comp. Or have a email address dedicated to this, where someone neutral can test the settings for themselves and post the ratings.
I would announce clearly the conditions and the testing infrastructure and post the results publicly. More than likely it would be a massive round robin played at 1 minute + 1 second using my auto-tester. My auto-tester produces html output in a nice format.
But I can tell you the contest is almost meaningless unless each personality gets to play a LOT of games, so if there were more than just a few entrants it might start with a qualifying tournament to winnow out the weaker entrants.
There is another format that I made up - don't know if it's already been invented or not. You play a series of double round robin tournaments and after each round you eliminate any and all players who fall more than N games behind the leader(s). N could be pretty high so that not too much is left to coincidence or a bad start. Such a tournament would get real exiting when a player is fighting to not get dropped from the next round! There would still be some limit however on the number of games to be played.

Nope,it was invented already, that's how I created Zappa Mexico II XIII ,a great approach for testing by the way, extremely sensitive and informative

For non fischer time controls it seems Doch is abit conversative like Chessmaster. It usually has 20-30seconds left until the next time control anyone else see this?
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

In German, it's the positive response (even somewhat confrontational) to a negative statement or question. As in, "There are no new interesting or innovative chess engines. DOCH!" I love the name.
Your 32-bit Linux version Doch 1.2 is not running at me (Linux Ubuntu).
Any thoughts why this could be?
Greetings

Hi Kurt,
I did test on Linux Ubuntu live cd before releasing and it seemed ok. Anton, in this thread commented that it worked for him. I'm not a Linux expert at all, so maybe other Linux users can test to see if it is working for them also?

Jim.
I downloaded the 32-bit Linux compile for Doch 1.2 and aside from having to make it executable first (chmod +x doch), it runs fine under SCID on my 64-bit Ubuntu. I do not have a 32-bit Ubuntu system handy to test on at the moment.

Hi Roy
Oops, shame on me! I "forgot" to make Doch 1.2 32-bit executable first. The engine is now running fine under Deep Shredder 12 Linux and SCID.
Greetings
