Re: If you are interested....
The point seems to be you claim DON is a derivative engine that has grown far away from stockfish, but you are also found hiding commits of you copying stockfish code. Also, how can it have been on github since 2007, when github was released on April 2008? Please explain that to me.

Who is stopping you to take my commits?
Stockfish also take commits of other engins.
Like Cassica...etc
What is wrong in this?

GitHub was officially released to the public on April 10, 2008.
A bit of timeline context:
2007 – GitHub was founded by Tom Preston-Werner, Chris Wanstrath, P. J. Hyett, and Scott Chacon
April 10, 2008 – Public launch (official release)
Initially launched as a Git repository hosting service with a web UI, which was a big shift from purely CLI-based Git workflows at the time
So if by “officially released” you mean when developers could actually start using it publicly → April 10, 2008
But I said it is almost on github from 2007..
I may be wrong because it is almost 19 year back story.
So may be i am wrong.. but still take 2008 to be start date. it not a big deal.
Point is it is on Github from what ever you say 2008.
When Marco and me started developing engine.
I started DON. and he stockfish. we have some disccusion on email and also Marco took some Code modification from DON.
I not mind if you take some code, All engine do that on pupose.
Thanks

To Ehsan Rashid,
Please stop posting in my results thread. TOP_TEST_2026 tournament has become private now. I'll stop here too. I won't post in your "DON Chess Engine" thread anymore. Things are clear to me (I only posted the conclusions).
I ask the forum moderator to consider my requests!
Many thanks,
SivianR

My point for 1. Yes, i know that engines do take code from each other, and seems DON is no exception. However, why are you trying to _hide_ it?erashid wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 3:07 pmYou are right:OttoLau wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 1:43 pmThe point seems to be you claim DON is a derivative engine that has grown far away from stockfish, but you are also found hiding commits of you copying stockfish code. 2. If you really had DON on github since 2008, please provide a github commit from 2008.
3. Looking at the talkchess forum posts, All that Marco took from you was code style changes. Exact quote for what he said:
<Now that I have browsed the sources more deeply I can state that search and evaluation almost 100% functional equivalent with latest Stockfish dev version.
I have took some ideas and ported to SF, but mainly regarding code style and renaming of some variable, plus some small ancillary function. Nothing real chess related also because, as I have already said, there is really no functional change difference with SF, so I'd expect same ELO level of latest SF (he is good in keeping track of all the changes to github SF repository). >
