Ra8

We can either do Ra5 or Ra8 but Ra5 will get Bd2 again. We may as well move the rook to a8 directly and save time.

In return we will get either Re2 or c5.

c5 is a dead draw if we want it via Bd5.

Re2 on the other hand will involve swapping pawns on the b file as we should then play Rb8. I guess at that point we will get b4 from the computer. How it retakes could be crucial to it's survival.

My vote is Ra5.

Best,

Gerold.

P.S. No need to rush the game.

Again moving this rook? Instead of the dancing queen we have the dancing rook. What happens with Rb7?

Indeed, I don't think there are break-through moves available for either side now. It seems both sides will just be shuffling pieces. A draw seems inevitable to me unless we decide to do something risky

The computer will do that on the next move. Patience is a virtue.

24 Rxe5 Qxe5 25 Qd8+ +/-

We are shuffling pieces because white is making silly threats shuffling its own.
We have the pieces in the wrong spots (we should have Qe7, Ra8, Rb8 by now) but white is not doing much. I think we have to be careful and allow white to make a positional mistake before we make our own :-)
