July moderator elections - new format

If you want a serious answer, Hetman, imho anyone who is qualified to vote in the election should be free to stand in it. It is then up to the members/electorate to decide who they want.

It is difficult to speak with you seriously.
I think that nominee shall not speak with the ghosts, aliens etc. It is good for Fide not for CCC.

The people who want be elected shall explain their professional and personnal connections with chessbusiness.

i.e. one programmer friend will tell ( in the jokes) the collegaue - mod that certain product is bad, he would believed it and would remove the posts concerning that product. it would create a lot of disturbances.

we do not want that, do we ?

I do not know what obseesion it is.
If you want to speak with Hetman send him a letter.If he is member of hiarcs forum speak with him on that forum.
The problem could be if Hetman does not want to speak with you.

There were the time in when voting rights were having that who were paying taxes and vote were proportional to the paid tax.
There were democracies were only nobles were having rights to vote.

Similar is here that ones who have more then 50 post and are (older) longer then some period.

in any democratically held elections there are voter eligibility requirements..qualifications
a 9 year old child cannot stumble into a voting booth,wipe the ice cream off of his/her hands and pull a ballot booth lever to vote
i cant go to France on holiday and demand to vote in the election for Prime Minister
anyway...this is a Club with special rules for joining and posting etc etc
not a democracy in the pure sense of the word

Time to finalize the election conditions for the upcoming election

it seems that these might be the best terms...

Teams of three moderators will run as candidates
the term will be for 1 year
all members who have been registered for 6 months and who have at least 50 posts will be allowed to vote
in some rare cases there are long time members who post infrequently and they will be considered on a case by case basis
the vote will remain open for 4 days and if no team gets a clear 51% majority there will be a 3 day run off between the two top teams

this will provide harmony amongst the moderation team regarding the most divisive issues
it will provide consistency in moderation for a year rather then turmoil every 6 months
it will remove all clouds on the integrity of the vote eliminating non-posting.. late in the day sign-up's from manipulating the vote
long term but non posting members will have a chance to vote as well

if we can at least nail down the terms then teams can be formulated
we are running out of time
