Hi Sean, look at the bottom right of your task bar for a mini windows symbol. It may have downloaded already. You will then just need to start the upgrade. It will say, "Get windows 10" when you hover over it.
Hi, I requested it yesterday, but it never got back to me. I checked today and just downloaded it as I type this message. Still getting use to the new Windows 10 homepage, I hope it is a good upgrade :D

Thanks,

Sean

For all those who are getting impatient waiting for days, it is possible can force an immediate upgrade with a little registry hack. I have done this for a couple of computers already - it works.
Do registry hack below to immediately upgrade instead of having to wait a few days.

Open your registry editor and go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade]
There you will find / "ReservationsAllowed"=dword:00000002 /
Change that value to 1
after that add the following using right click new > dword32 for each one.

"KickoffDownload" - value 1
"KickoffSource" value - 0
"AllowOSUpgrade" value - 1

in the end it should look like this

//////
"ReservationsAllowed"=dword:00000001
"KickoffDownload"=dword:00000001
"KickoffSource"=dword:00000000
"AllowOSUpgrade"=dword:00000001
//////

now click check for update and it will start the download.

The only chess associated issue I had with W10 is that it changed the usb3 port I was using for a flash drive from f: to g:. Until I realized it, I was not getting use of 3-4-5-tb's. My 6-tb is on an external drive e: and that was unchanged.

Jim.
Or download the small upgrade tool to get it started - that is what I did.

Just upgraded. Took at least two hours. pfft. Did not like windows 8 too. Now it looks like my old windows xp with windows 8 features. Sweeping to the right of the screen does not work anymore it seems. When starting up my apps it starts configuring them first. So patience, patience, patience, and no panic, noo paanic.

Actually I don't understand what is the fun or advantage of windows 10. For I don't see any. But I see operating systems as something very boring.

It's certainly not boring that my old computer doesn't take 10 minutes to boot and be usable anymore.

Or maybe it is boring, but it sure makes me glad.

No advantage ? With Windows 10, you are much better connected with MS Corporation.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Now it wants me to enter a password too. So this means if someone is able to change it I would not be able to use my own computer anymore.

And what to do then ? Buy a new computer ?

Or what if you have a password with special characters and your keyboard is not working perfectly at that moment or you accidently changed your keyboard settings and you also logged out.
