I am at the Airport and found a 1460 rated player and I offered him $15.00 for a win $10.00 for a draw and $5.00 if he loses while I am waiting I will post as soon as the game is over. Most people here are not interested in lower rated players games, but Komodo Dragon 2.6 can be set to any human equal up to 2900 I believe or higher. I should be at Miami international Airport within 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Seems like dragon played better than 1460 this game. At ratings below 1500 dragon only does a 1 ply search with randomization and other limitations as well. Was it moving instantly every move? If not something was wrong. What GUI? Threads set to 1?

I used common max cpu settings = 1 , yes it was moving instantly. I used Arena 3.5

Note: There is also the advantage that when Komodo Dragon 2.6 is set for a specific UCI_ ELO even if it plays at that level throughout the entire game it does not blunder, whereas for example if you set it to UCI_ ELO 2850 to play versus Carlsen it will always play at that skill level, but it will not blunder and human being sometimes will make an inferior move or blunder and it happened even at the championship level for instance GM Nepo sometimes played like a low 2200 according to GM Caruana.

With an elo setting like 1460 it will often blunder, just not idiotic blunders like leaving or putting a rook en prose. A common blunder at elo settings around 1500 would be to take a pawn but then lose a piece to a fork. The higher the elo setting, the less obvious the blunders. At 2850 it might still make a move that Magnus Carlsen would call a blunder, but never one that you would call a blunder.

Has your son played versus Komodo Dragon 2.6 matching his human ratings yet ? When will you test Komodo Dragon 2.6 UCI _ELO in a 8 match at T/C 15 minutes 10 seconds bonus with a IM or GM like you do with Knight Odds, or it could be a combination of 4 games at g1 Knight odds and 4 games matching the human UCI_ELO.

I do intend to run such a match before long, nothing scheduled yet. I am trying first to make sure we’re at least close to the intended elo levels. So far seems okay.

Not that they would ever allow Komodo Dragon 2.6 to participate in the World Rapid and Blitz at Warsaw, but lets imagine that they do and Komodo Dragon is set to UCI_ELO = 2840 2nd to Carlsen Rapid rating, and in Blitz 2890 2nd to Carlsen in Blitz. What place do you believe that Komodo Dragon 2.6 would end here

What place do you believe that Komodo Dragon 2.6 would end here
Well, if I set the parameter values correctly for Dragon 2.6, it would mean that with a 2840 setting in the Rapid it should be an equal battle between Carlsen and Dragon 2840 for first place. But I don't yet have enough data to say whether I got it right or not. At around that level I think Dragon plays about the same as an engine with a similar CCRL Rapid rating at the tournament tc of 15' + 10". So it's the same as guessing how Deep Shredder 11 or Wasp 1.02 or Stockfish 1.4 would do on one core of a modern i7 in the tournament. Not enough data to say. Obviously if it played in the blitz with a 2890 setting it would win easily, since it would be playing at the strength of a 2890 player playing Rapid, not blitz. That's why in the readme I tell users to set the elo 200 points lower for blitz, then it might be about a fair race with Magnus for first.

My opinion might not be correct, but probably other can agree with me, even if you set Komodo Dragon 2.6 to 2800 settings in Rapid it should beat Carlsen. My opinion is based on the only fact that human including Super GM and the best human player like Carlsen, once in a while makes an inferior move Not necessarily a blunder but not the best move and Komodo at a setting of 2800 in rapid will never blunder a minor piece or any piece at all, plus that being human and knowing that you are playing an engine is enough to make the human nervous.
