Difficult to know if the Tasc would play b4 or not, and it may not even want to exchange the bishop in the first place. I'll need to think a bit more...michiguel wrote: We can't play Bf8 because of the exchange of bishops and b4 (That was the problem of Ra8 but there was no option)

I vote Bf8
There is a chance that the Tasc will just retreat the bishop, but if not I am not worried about the exchange.

Re: Move 29..
Our situation is turning critical, we are running out of moves, Bb4 was not necessary, white could play after Rf6, h4 ( I doubt it) or Qd4 (threat of c5 at least optically strong)
What you people think of 29...Kh8 and encourage 30.Bxg6, hxg6 31.Qxg6 Rh7? White has a perpetual but we should accept it as our position is deteriorating. Another option is 32.Re3.

First time I have looked at this game for a while. It looks like White has at least kept his 1 pawn advantage and ...Bf8 does look like the best move

29...Kh8 30.Bxg6 is weak due totano-urayoan wrote:Our situation is turning critical, we are running out of moves, Bb4 was not necessary, white could play after Rf6, h4 ( I doubt it) or Qd4 (threat of c5 at least optically strong)

2. .. hxg6 3. Qxg6 Rg8! 4. Qxf7 Rxg2+ 5. Kf1 Qxh2 6. Qf6+ Kh7
7. Re5 Rg6 8. Qf4 Qxh6 9. Qxh6+ Rxh6 *
I vote for 29. ... Bf8 too.
its unfortunate that we will probably lose the black squared bishop to defend the passer on the b file, but the doubled black rooks on the f file have got potential as well.

Re: Move 29..
29...Bf8 30 BxB RzxB and now 31. b4 cannot be played because of 31...Qb6, so 31. Qd4 and I don't see much else for black to do. White is going to play f3 to relieve the pressure on f2 and we don't really have much to do. We can life the rook and do some cheap threats I guess but its hard to imagine them going anywhere. Unfortunately I don't see anything better either.
So my choice is...
29....Resign?
My second choice is
29...Bf8

Hello Mr Conkie: What is your suggestion after 29...Rf6 30.Qd4?
