That it follows the principles of the PGN header is one of the things I dislike about it most. Because it is not in the header. What is good for a header, need not be good for embedded comments/annotations.
And one of the most important principles of the header is that each tag is on a different line. This is pretty essential for maintaining readibility of the tags in the chosen format. The embedded pseudo-tags do not respect that principle at all.

My primary concern is to get things such that they work well. If rigidly adhering to ideologies would lead to producing things that do not work well, I am quite happy to abandon those ideologies. I prefer a half-way solution that works perfectly over a perfect solution that only works half any time!
