Hi.

I already played a queen odds challenge against Crafty, Komodo, Lc0 and Stockfish (I won all games).

Let me finish first this pawn ending challenge.
After it, I will look for new challenges.

Greetings.[/pgn]
If you already beat Stockfish at Queen Odds and Rainman rated 1619 at Rapid also beat Stockfish, but drew against dragon 2.6, we can conclude that you are close in rating to Rainman
Hi.

It is difficult to make that kind of indirect comparisons.
And I am sure it depends a lot on the time control.
Let's say that engine X is about my strength at standard time control. Then it is better than me at rapid games, and much better at blitz.
The quality of play decreases more for humans than for engines with shorter time controls.
Unfortunately, I do not have time to play standard games. I have to play rapid.
Oh, about blitz, I am too clumsy with the mouse; I risk just misclicking by moving too fast.
Even when I know which move to make, I can easily take more than one second to perform it in the computer.
And if try to move faster, I fall into mouse slips.

Greetings.
I was only comparing playing at Rapid game at 15 minutes + 10 Sec, NOT Blitz or Standard slow chess

Hi.

Now, the second game against Komodo, taking the h7 pawn.
A win for me.

Again, this time I prioritized centralizing and activating my king, instead of quickly advancing my pawns.
It seems, it is the best general strategy in this challenge. Of course, there are some positions which require a fast pawn advance, even if the king is far behind. One has to calculate in every particular situation.
About the game, I got a healthy pawn majority in the kingside, and went with my king to the queenside. At first, Komodo did not advance its pawns much, which poses some difficulties to find a way in. 17. b5 just does the trick.

Hi.

Now, the second game against Lc0, taking the a7 pawn.
A loss for me.

This is the first loss I have in this challenge.
I was hoping that this would not happen.
It also means that the challenge will go into a third round, something that I was also trying to avoid.

I missed several of Lc0's moves.
The first surprise was 8... e5, I thought that Lc0 was giving up a pawn. Of course, I simply missed 9... g5, which forces my king back and recovers the pawn.
I also did not expect 15... Ka4, which forces my next to moves, to protect my c3 pawn.
I did not understand why Lc0 played 19... gf4. I saw that, after my 20. gh4, my king could hold both black passed pawns on d3 and f3, and that its king was way too far to stop my passed h-pawn. What happened is that, when I played 20. gh4, I missed 23... Kc2. I only expected 23... Kc3, which allows me to promote my pawn with check. After that, I am just lost.
I should have played 20. gf4 (instead of gh4). From Lc0's evaluation, I see that is winning for me. It can not stop both my passed f-pawn and my potentially passed a-pawn: they are too far away from each other. And my king can easily hold one black passed pawn on d3.

Hi.

Now the second game against Stockfish, taking the g7 pawn.
A win for me.

Stockfish deviated from the first game with 2... f6 (instead of 2... Kf8, which it played in the first game).
My first interesting decision was 4. f5; it leaves my candidate pawn half backwards (a bad thing for me), but it takes a lot of mobility from Black (a bad thing for Stockfish).
I think 10... fg5 would have offered more resistance than 10... a4 (the move actually played by Stockfish).
After 11. g6 I got a protected and very advanced passed pawn. My king was free to invade the queenside.

Hi.

Now, the second game against Komodo, taking the b7 pawn.
A loss for me.

This is my second loss in this challenge, I am somewhat surprised.

Komodo deviated from the first game with 5... e5 (instead of 5... Kc6).
In hindsight (after two games), I think now that 2. c4 is not that good. Of course, it does not throw the win away; I just think that it is better to play c3, get my king into the action zone, and only after my king is close enough play either c4 or a4 (depending on what the opponent does in the meantime).
From Komodo's evaluation, I see that the drawing move is 12. c5; which basically is identical to the mistake I made in the first game.
When I played 12. c5, it was in my plans to eventually play e4 and "remove" the black pawn on d5. Only that Black is simply not forced to capture on e4 (and it did not).
12. d4 should be winning, I think.
16. d4 is my losing mistake. When I played it, I missed 20... g3. After seeing this 20th move I realized that I was lost.

Hi.

Now, the second game against Berserk, taking the e7 pawn.
A win for me.

Berserk deviated from the first game with 3... c6 (instead of 3... Ke6).
When I saw that I could clamp its position with 13. c5 and 14. f5, I went for that. My candidate d-pawn is momentarily backwards, but Berserk can not stop me from advancing it later.
After 16. d6 it is an straightforward win: I have a protected passed pawn, and Black's pawns are accessible to my king.

Hi.

Now, the second game against Komodo, taking the g7 pawn.
A win for me.

I deviated from the first game with 2. f3 (instead of 2. f4). From my previous game against Komodo taking the b7 pawn, I came to the conclusion that it is better to first get the king close to the action, before advancing the pawns too much. And there is no essential difference between the b-pawn and the g-pawn.
I got an outside passed pawn: ¡three columns of separation to the mass of pawn on the other flank!
When I realized that Komodo was going after my d-pawn, it was already too late to bring my king back. But I found the nice moves 20. cd3 cd3 21 h4, which I think is the only way to prevent Komodo from queening. I saw other moves that lead to a queen ending, two extra pawns for me... but I do not think I can convert that against an engine (even if it is objectively won).

Hi.

Now, the second game against Stockfish, taking the a7 pawn.
A win for me.

Stockfish deviated from the first game with 3... f6 (instead of 3... c5).
9... b5 surprised me; but it gives me protected passed pawn, so I just went with my king to the kingside.
After that, it was not really difficult; I just had to play with some care.

You should try this more interesting challenge position against Stockfish 15.1 playing with all these minor pieces against the Queen of Stockfish

Hi.

Sorry, I am not really interested in such imbalanced challenges (taking so many different pieces from each side).

I intend to play a Queen vs Rook odds challenge. Remove one of my rooks, and the engine's Queen.

Greetings.
