the hardware is mentioned in one of the posts above: a PC cluster etc.
A PC cluster is a general statement.... :D

I can't go into details here (lack of time, sorry), but am attaching a couple of interesting games played on Playchess (I know that the second game was against Rybka running on a quad).
2 games mean nothing since it could have played 30 times against Rybka and get only 2 wins and some 15 loses so.....

What about this Axon engine? How we didn't hear anything about it before?

I think that you can get more information on the development of Axon (single processor engine) and Achilles (a multiprocessor engine) if you download a pdf from the links already mentioned in the thread.
I guess you mean this PDF:
http://www.elfak.ni.ac.yu/phptest/new/axon.pdf

Well there is a big problem:
I don't understand the language the PDF uses.....
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

This is great coverage with webcam and engine search info... I wish all the GM/engines matches were like this one

For such powerful hardware shouldn't he be up with the big iron?

We do not know how well it uses those 16 processors. How many games does it have?

The developer of the program Vlad Vuckovic also appears on the Arena site under the Axon Bench where it says :-
