Give Reasons to Use Linux as much as...

Post by fern »

...I have loaded a version that runs without hassle and frankly I cannot see which is the edge of it. There is of course a matter of ignorance: I look at the archives and I do not know how to launch a program. No exes. at view. Everything shrouded in mystery. But even if I find out how to use this piece of hoopla, what I get?
Less programs to run does not seem to me an advantage.
I am not in war with Gates to be happy of not using his stuff
Sop, then, what?

There is a solution to the problem you mention of less programs to run
if you use linux.

Start to write many program for linux.
If you write enough programs then there will be less programs to run under windows.

Note that in order to write programs for linux you need to use linux so I found for you a reason to use linux.

Personally I do not use linux but I have no problem to invent reasons why to use linux.

I did not know to date you had, after all, some sense of humor. Of course you are right: I will abandon at once any other job and I will write Linux programs in order to learn how to use Linux

Already making a joke machine on Linux

I have used linux, winblows and mac os over the years and am now just going to use mac os for my desktop needs. I have found that there is no lack of software on the apple. My decision came after dealing with issues w/ vista and so now I have had enough
Hope this helps.

If you are happy with Windows, then there is no need to change; doing so has been a solid month of hard work for me.

What you see are testimonials from people who ARE tired of Windows for whatever the reason. I, personally, see Vista as in-effect buggy in various ways, and slow, and my annoyance grew and grew until the motivation was there to switch.

The advantages to me are a cleanliness, a simplicity that can be seen once you've studied it, and an intangible relief felt from being out from under an operating system that was bullying me in various ways.

This feeling of freedom, gained through my willingness to learn, and also the study and learning for its own sake, make me glad I switched. Fortunately, everything I need is up and running.
