Hi.
I've organised a consultation game between some members of my chess club and CS Tal II (actually Purple Chess Champion) tonight (starting in 6hrs time).
CS Tal II is running on an old IBM Thinkpad P2 400MHz, running Windows XP. In the "about" window, CS Tal claims that it is running at 98% the speed of a P200.
My aim is to provide an opponent of approximately 2000 ELO rating strength for the consultation team to play against. How would you suggest that I handicap the program to achieve this? There is a "Reduce Strength" option, which takes a value between 0 and 50 as input, with 50 being strongest and 0 being weakest. What value would roughly correspond to a 2000 ELO rating on this hardware?
Changing the topic slightly, the documentation for Purple Chess Champion says that the large opening book will be used automatically if the installation CD is in the CD drive, but my installation does not find the book when the CD is in the drive. I have to specify the book as a user book for it to be found. Is something wrong with my installation?
Lastly, I noticed a strange coincidence - When I came to www.talkchess.com today (something I haven't done for many months), I noticed that the member who joined most recently is Chris Whittington, the author of CS TAL!
Thanks for any help.

CSTal plays excellent and unique chess, it's style fascinated many over years.other programs plays like an oatmeal irrespective of their strength as Bruce Moreland used to say, although I know few programs that has good playing style.Thorsten can answer your question since he knows more about it.

My guess is to put it at 80% of its strength, that is to say, calibrate to 40
