Chessmaster 11th EGDB

Post by AdminX »

I noticed that the program only ships with 335 MB of EGDB. I created the full set a while back with the old Chessmaster 10th. It totals around 5 Gigs. Any ideas on where I can upload them for download?

Nope.
BTW I noticed that using EGDB in a rook+pawn versus rook endgame CM11 does not immediately see the win in the evaluation, and certainly does not give the distance to mate. Any other experiences like this?

Yes, I noticed the same I saw with CM10th - EGDBs are only used in the same way as Shredder oder Chessbase GUIs do it: they are not used in the search but only when 4 (or 5) pieces are left. So I see no need to use these EGDBs

Does that mean the 335 MB of EGDB do NOT contain KRP-KR?

The EGDB file does contain that endgame, but it does not seem to be handled (well) somehow. I wonder if the engine accesses and/or processes the information correctly or efficiently.

I've noticed when using the EGDB Chessmaster will usually find the correct moves instantly but the score does not show mate. For instance in the krpkp endgame it will typically show a score of only 1-2 pawns even though it will play the endgame to mate in 31 correctly and quickly.
