I am looking to turn .pgn files in Standard Algebraic Notation into text in Long Algebraic Notation, i.e. 1.e4 --> 1.e2e4
Does anyone know of software tools to do this?
Thanks in advance - Guy

Hello Guy,
http://www.cs.kent.ac.uk/people/staff/djb/extract.html
Example to convert san pgn to long algebraic using Pgn-extract.
read manual for further details.
Jim.
pgn-extract can do this (and other output formats too)

Hello Jim,
Thanks re PGN-Extract: d'loaded the various files, and tried v15 on Win32 'straight out of the box' with your commands. Seems to work just fine: excellent.
Will be useful: I'm matching SHREDDER UCI output in LAN with the original game moves, which are of course in SAN.
