I've changed my subject a bit. It would be helpful if anybody can tell me the chess strategies that you find most effective on flawless leveled PC computer programs.

I'll give you the one I saw GM Mecking use successfully time and time again against a variety of engines in blitz on ICC, taking his rating to number one some years ago.

He would seek out a closed center and undefined wings, and simplify the game into a knight-bishop ending in which he would work both wings with long maneuvers. He was extremely efficient, and the engines had a very tough time, losing many balanced endings.
