Who is testing Genius 7?

Who is testing Richard Lang's Genius 7? The latest ChessGenius Classic is compatible with Windows Vista, reads CBF files, etc., but I wonder how strong the engine is. http://www.chessgenius.com/pc/index.html

I have Genius 7. It is extremely difficult to add new engines to Genius 7. It is impossible to play Genius 7 in other GUIs. Therefore, once the novelty has worn off, it just sits there.

I don't see any solution to it.

I am testing ChessGenius Classic 7.200A against 32 opponents at a slow time control in one of my divisions, doing it manualy....
After a 64 games it's estimated Elo is around 2200 when Rybka 2.3.2a MP is 3032 in my rating list....

It depends on how hard you want to do it. A technique I have used in the past is to grab small parts of the screen and see what happens. For a chess GUI, provided that you know the start position, you can generate the list of legal moves and start polling (i.e. grabbing) the interested squares. I think with normal piece sets grabbing one pixel is enough, you just need to know whether the square is empty or not (promotions are different, but just promoting to queen would work most of times). This would allow you to detect moves and converting them to a standard protocol.
For input, the Win32 API provides a couple of functions to simulate human input, considering the simple geometry of a chessboard it should be fairly simple to move pieces by simulating the proper mouse (or keyboard) action.

I have the newest Version of Genius 7 Classic (7.200e). It works very fine on my XP System. The new XP outfit is nice too, I like it!

As Engines I have implement Ruffian 2.0.2 (as Winboard engine). On my Homepage under "Schach" then --> "Downloads", You can find how You can implement Ruffian or other WB-Engines. UCI are under XP little problematic.

Have a nice day and fun with the Chess Cenius Classic 7!

Disappointingly little different to Genius 6.5 from 1999.
It is easy enough to test using 2 PC's because its GUI supports Autoplayer
The playing strength reflects no engine development for the last 8 years.
Recently I played a match between G7 and Movei00_8_438 coupled with the S9 book. Movei had little trouble trouncing Genius
If you can get the big opening book that came with G6.5 it is still a useful engine to play against.

Indeed and it plays roughly around 2200 Elo and in no way at the level of 2400 elo as some testers claims....

I do not know about comp-comp games but in comp-human games genius was clearly better than 2200.

Old Genius3 on old p90 even could beat kasparov 1.5:0.5 at 25 minutes per game and certainly was at least at the level of 2600 at 25 minutes/game.

I believe that genius is at least at the level of 2400 against humans
at 120/40 even after considering the fact that humans are relatively better at longer time control.
