Lokasoft alive and kicking?

Post by Kaj Soderberg »

Does anyone know if Lokasoft is still alive and kicking?
The last info i saw on their site was about summer holiday staffing (2007). Momentarily the site seems not in operation.
I would find it sad for competitive reasons if Lokasoft is gone, and further i always found the service quite good.
If gone, where do the "stable horses" like Chess Tiger, Gandalf and Smarthink go?
Please tell me it is all a coincidence of no births within the stable for a while.

Best regards,

Kaj

They work, but are very slow tonight. The latest news and postings date from August 2007.

We closed the forums because they where constanly being spammed. Also other interactive parts of the side where spammed and also those are closed. Its said that we had to do this but I simply don't have to time to deal with the spam.

And the next Ktulu? Ktulu 8 is a vital engine for my opening analysis so it'd be good to see a new version.

No news for five months doesn't inspire confidence in potential customers, especially since Lokasoft stopped selling Gandalf and Deep Sjeng. (For the latter, visit http://www.sjeng.org/deepsjeng2.html instead.)

In November 2007 Ktulu's author Rahman Paidar emailed me to say:
Ktulu is an alive engine and I am still working on Ktulu. I can't give you anytime about the date of the new version but the new version is on
the way of developing. [...] maybe I add Dual Processor
support for the new version but can't you any promise.

Hi Lex.

Do you know if C. Theron is still developing Chess Tiger?

His last post here was rather "bucolic"

As a computer chess fan I always read his comments with interest and his sarcasm was very funny. I think that lot of people miss him here, you are not alone Kaj
