Hi Graham,
HS-Large Remis book has some very long lines in them.
I did not reckon with someone creating a ChessGUI without using ChessGUI that truncates such very long lines.
I shall update to ChessGUI 0.104 to cope with such books created without using ChessGUI.
Are you using the Team Fight tournament type in this tournament ?
Best,
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Hi Matthias,

Harry's book goes no further than 12 moves, so doesn't breach CCRL testing rules.
Yes - I'm using the team fight tournament.
I've started the rematch now. 8-)

If you are changing booklines per game, you may encounter problems.
ChessGUI 0.104 shall cope with booklines 1000 plys long or longer.

Regards,
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Hi Matthias,

thanks. I've checked all my games so far. Setting the book option to go no further than 12 moves seems to be working. Is there anything I need to worry about from what you're saying?

Hi Graham,
"... 12 moves seems to be working. Is there anything I need to worry about from what you're saying?" Yes !
you have been just lucky till now
This one evil scenario can still bring disaster :

- IF BOOKLINES CHANGE PER GAME and GUI grabs a bookline longer than about 350 plys, ChessGUI 0.103 will function unpredictably

See how to update to ChessGUI 0.104 in main subforum.
Best,
Matthias.

Hi Matthias,
What you think is impossible and inexplicable. My book for your GUI
contains O N L Y LINES WITH 12 MOVES and not one move more !!.
From where appear such long lines ?????
I have played over 40 games and always appeared quite normal the 12
opening moves from the book!!. :?: :?:

Thanks for this clarification Harry. As I said to Matthias, I've had no problems here. 8-)
I appreciate the efforts of you both.
