Am I glad to see you back..I lost 5 games against Twisted Logic today on ICC..Well, I won one of them because twisted lost on time in a mate in 6..Michael Sherwin wrote:Then Romi would not be Romi anymore. What about the 10's of thousands of games where Romi did not see the other sides huge advantage and then won against all reason. Those would go away also. Maybe what would be left would be renamed Fruitka! And by the way I am working (slowly) on a 'Fruitka', but it is not a Romika. Anyway, once my Fruitka is up and running, I will give it all sorts of crazy new ideas. Then I can see which of my ideas are good and which are crap. In the meantime I hope to make RomiChess stronger. I will do all this as I find the time. And I do not know when that will be.Tony Thomas wrote:Shoot, I sure can use a Romi that sees advantages that other engines see...In a game against Oxygen online the other day, oxygen was seeing +2.2 advantage for itself, and romi was only seeing a slight disadvantage until it was too late. Romi wasnt even seeing the line Oxygen was kibitzing.
Guenther Simon once wrote, "Romi can even lose from a superior position"!That was just after Romi won a bunch of games from inferrior positions. So it was a bit sarcastic!

I'll send something soon.
May be you should stop the development of Romi at the current version..Remove all the crazy stuff, and call it Goat. "Move like a lamb, kicks like a goat" (Remember Cassius)..I mean, they have viper, Biglion, Robin, and all kinds of other animals, why not a goat?? Did you get the PGN from Wael, if you dont have time to make a new book we should use the Polyglot book from Robindu Guha, the author of OxygenX, at least temporarily.
Here is a comment about his book from Jeroen..
So basically Joker lost due to the blunder..Round 9 saw a long game against Joker. Rybka won, which means Rybka is the winner of the ICT Leiden tournament with a 8.5/9 score. Surprisingly of all participants Joker made the most theory moves against Rybka . Then a well known position remained, with white a pawn up and black having compensation. Rybka quickly grasped the initiative, but the ending was still difficult to win. 45.Rd1? was a huge blunder, after which the game was over.
