I wish they hadn't done this ;) :

Code: Select all

   Engine Score Ry Sc S-B
1: Rybka 2.2n2 10.0/10 ·········· 1111111111 0.00
2: Schola 0.0/10 0000000000 ·········· 0.00

Not that I was expecting anything different!!!

Hi,

This is an unbeatable 'free' combination !!

CEGT rating says :
7 Rybka 2.2 x64 2CPU 3006 14 14 1517 71.1% 2849 37.3%

With the Rybka II book you can add another 30 elo at least when playing against other engines.

So it is the strongest engine after Rybka 3 and stronger than 95% off the other commercials :(

A lot off work to do for Gian Carlo, Mark, alexander and the others....

Best

This is a marketing strategy. Moves like this could kill the competition. Why buy second rate commercial programs when an engine of the same strength is for free? Buy the best one instead, of course! As of now, Rybka 3 seems to be on top of the Olympus. This is a capitalist marketing ploy, comrades!

I have a question though..Since I'm not use to importing books into Fritz 8 GUI...What is the process to make this book work? I'll need step by step.

Thanks!

Oh it's very very complicated:
•1)Extract on a folder somewhere the contains of the ZIP.
•2)In the Fritz GUI choose the "Openings Book" tab.
•3)Now IF:
-You have already loaded a book then right click inside the openings book tab and choose "Close Book File". Now go to step 4)
-You don't have any loaded a book then go to step 4)
•4)Press "Load Book" and choose your book.

If you do have problems do this:

Once you have unzipped the book file go to : My documents -chessbase-books and then drag and drop the Rybka cto,ctb & ctg files into the book file. Now open the F8 gui and click file at the top. click open and then opening books. Youwill see all the book files you have there. Whenever you whish to use a particular book go here and chose the one you want.

Have fun Jaimes

Thanks!

Don't you have to convert the book to ctg. formatt? Or is this done automatically?

You see I had to do more steps, which I've forgotten when I added a new Hiarcs book years ago.

Well, I'll download the book later while I'm sleeping in a day or so as I'm using *ugh* dial-up, and see how it goes. The engine of course is very simple, I'm just relating to my old experience with Hiarcs 8. It was easy when I knew how.

Now I'm embarrassed
