It's from the II People vs Computers World Chess Team Match in November 2005. Day 2 Ponomariov vs Fritz. I cannot remember the time control but it was fairly long.
Here Fritz, in a completely winning position, played the weak Bc2? and went down in flames.
I've analyzed this with a few engines, and while none of them will play Bc2, some struggle to see that the resulting position is loosing for white.
Rybka 3 does very well here and finds the refutation immediately (on my Core2Duo). I do not have Zappa, Hiarcs or any of the other top engines, but I guess they will solve this easily as well. (Glaurung 2.1 is struggling!)
Watching Rybka solving this with ease, it seems almost ridiculous that Bc2 was played by a top engine just 3 years ago.
Anyone remember this position?
