xp pro 64 bit vs vista home 64 bit

i am curious which of these is more stable.i will be buying a custom laptop to analyse games with and was wondering which would be best. as i understand vista 64 bit still has problems and i was wondering if xp pro 64 was any better.

i had no crash so far with my chess programs. and the machines are running arround the clock.

XP 64 bit.

I have used both, and both are pretty stable, but I do prefer xp pro 64 for other reasons.
