You must agree to rules to read this Deep Blue f4 thread

Post by kgburcham »

Rule #1. If you hate the US for beating the #1 chess player in the world in 1997 then do not continue past this point. You have what is medically diagnosed as USAREDASS and you will not understand the shallow chess logic of this post. You have been psyched out.
Rule #2. If you have not read, studied, and tested every move of Deep Blues games then you may continue past this point, but it becomes a read only thread-you may not reply.
Rule #3. If you are a GM or Super GM (cough), and you have technical questions about any positions or lines in Deep Blue games then email me. I will help you understand how Deep Blue made these moves and how several of todays programs find all of Deep Blue moves, except the one Deep Blue blunder that is accepted as a bug.
Rule #4. If you have been medically diagnosed with Rybka Jock Itch, then do not continue. You will not understand that Deep Blue would Knock out Rybka in the first minute of the first round, sad.

If you agree to rules then continue:

The GM analysis for this Deep Blue move is incorrect. Kasparovs thoughts about this move are incorrect. This move is a common program move made by many programs. This move when made was a surprise to GM and Super GM because this move was above their ability to think a program could make this move. The Super GM and GM did not realize the importance of this move but Deep Blue did and todays programs do. This was regarded by many as a "Human Move" claiming also a "cheating move". There is no doubt that this is completely untrue and shows a lack of chess program knowledge. Kasparov was rude when he asked for logs to check for human interference. Kasparov was depressed when he found out that his opponent had the ability to beat him and possibly win the match. Kasparov was a sore loser and he let his overinflated ego get the best of him. Kasparov was an embarrassment as a representative of the chess world.
Kasparov should have been overjoyed for the accomplishments the programmers made. For Kasparov would win many games in his future using programs as a teaching aid.
