On Alternative Energy

Post by Steve B »

We have already seen how the old dedicated computers were far ahead of their time with the early release of piece recognition boards(light years ahead of DGT)

in this thread we can see that the old computers were also early adopter's of Alternative Energy Sources of which we hear so much today

released over 12 years ago..this chess computer runs entirely from Solar power(batteries are a back up alternative)

rated about 1000 Elo on cloudy rainy days..it soars to over 3000+ Elo on bright sunshiny days

Let's hope that the tournaments take place in Phoenix and not in Seattle.

I wouldn't say years ahead. DGT uses RFIDs and the dedicateds used low magnetic fields.

RF wouldn''t work with dedicted chess computers unless the board is separate.

Major Interference Regards

there were actual plans underway for Fischer to play a match against the Solar Star..
but they could not agree on the arrangments
Fischer insisted that each game should begin at sundown

negotitations were broken off in vain

Weird...I believed to date the problem was the money. The king of the Star Sun you mention asked even more money than the one you will expend betting for that old F9 contrivance. But of course it is a too much exagerated version.

In the queue for a hot soup regards
