Not sure I understand this. Why is the number of cores on the cpu package the determining feature defining a micro-computer. Presumably, micro referred to size initially, not the contents of the chip. And you will soon be able to buy an eight core computer from a general pc shop. I would want to know that the chess software (or any other software) can utilise the full capacity of the pc I bought.

I could have sworn there was a story about this computer chess situation in todays newspaper, but after closer reading it was about KTM and the Dakar rally :P
