New Fairy-Max (4.8L) as demo for WB protocol extensions

Post by hgm »

I adapted the WB interface of Fairy-Max to make it a demo engine for some of the WB protocol extensions that will be implemented in WinBoard / XBoard 4.4.0.

In particular, Fairy-Max now sends option features for implementing a Resign Threshold and interactively changing the name of its game-definition file, and a button for clearing its hash table. In addition there are some dummy options that are ignored, but can be used to test GUIs implementing the option feature. (So far Fairy-Max is the only native WinBoard engine to present option in the Engine #1 Settings dialog of WinBoard / XBoard.)

The hash-table size of Fairy-Max could be set interactively with the aid of the WB "memory" command (from the Options->UCI... menu, which will be named Options->Global Settings... in future WB versions) already for a long time.
