I just got a Novag 2Robot Chess computer. What I was wondering was, is there an "AutoPlay" mode"? That's the machine playing against itself. The manual is not clear on how to set it up, if there is an "AutoPlay" mode.
Right now the only way that I can have the machine play against itself, is to press the "Go" button each time, for every White and Black move. Thanks!

there is no auto-play level/mode
Pressing "Go " on each move is the only way to get the Robot To Play itself

Hi John
Steve's correct as it explains in the User Guide "The GO key is used to enter a command including to let the computer play against itself (according to the set playing level).

Well I'm not very impressed! I let the 2Robot play itself and after almost an hour, and 55 moves, white beats black. White had a King, a Rook, and 6 Pawns. Black had a King and one Pawn. There was no offer of a Black resignation! The game just kept going until it just stopped making any moves at 55.
Best regards to all of you!

I'm still having some problems understanding how this machine works.I've read, mainly on the web, that the machine can setup the chess board automatically. If that's true, how is it done? Thanks again!

several chess playing Robots can do this of course ,including reversing the white and black pieces at the start of a game
the Excalibur Phantom Force can do this (and also talk to you)

Re: Novag 2Robot Chess Computer
I was kinda busy for the last couple of weeks, so I just got back to playing around with the Novag 2Robot during Spring Break.
So here's a game where Black promotes a pawn. The 2Robot does not substitute the pawn for let's say a Queen, but keeps using the pawn as if it was a Queen. Awful programming, absolutely awful! Or am I missing something?
