Hi all,
I have tested thousands of engines in last years.
Some members of my group, CET, asked me for
all the games. Below is the download link for
CET 01-25 Games in PGN format with 7-zipped:
http://www.mediafire.com/?nlce2mjg1jl
[15 MB, 76991 games]
Info:
-- Most of the games are blitz games, but some standard
games were also included.
-- You should use latest 7-zip 9 beta for unzipping.
-- Last five games were included for ratification purposes only.
You can delete them safely. The real number of games is 76886.

Thanks Harun, what opening book, books did you use

_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

If an engine has its own book, I use it per default.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:Thanks Harun, what opening book, books did you use![]()
For Naum: 22 MB book is the one that I am using.
For Crafty: Bobs, Danns, Peters, Brians, Jims books,
I made a huge crafty book for the version 20.00, around 300 MB,
not compatible with the newer ones.
For Thinker, I created a 100 MB book, normally I use it, otherwise
its own books.
For polyglot books, for Spike, Toga etc, I use Pavels books.
For Alaric, I try to catch the latest of Guenters book.
and the list goes on and on.
I have tested Nano 3.8 with or without book. Same applied to Typhoon
and Twisted. I have found up to 200 points ratings difference between
both versions, in general 100-150 points. This was the main reason
why I have been using books.
Also Wing was tested with normal book and huge book. But not
without book, IIRC.
For CB GUIs, Fritz, Deep Fritz, Zap! etc:
I mainly use my latest own book, F12new.ctg, its size some gigabytes,
for all engines with changing colors where appropriate plus
Rybka books including your book, DFritz 11 book, Superchessengine
site books like Sheebar etc, HS books limited to 7 moves (or 14
halfmoves) or 10 moves at most, paradigm, perfect series, some
others for few test games only.
For Arena: I have created an huge book whose size is over 1 GB.
Plus all the books on the Arena www pages including Danns 100-moves
book. Your books were also used : Rybka .abk and ibase previously.
Michaels, Sedats, Harrys and Salvos books were also used
I must confess I havent used Chimera.abk (Note to myself)
For Shredder GUIs: My own book was a little weaker. I have used
Michaels books. 2 books. Oops sorry: plus Shredder Classic big book.
For ChessPartner GUIs: GUI book+ some other books, I dont recall well,
I must check the tournament reports, but the limit was 15 moves.
For ChessGUI: GUI book
For WinBoard: unique polyglot book for each test tournament.
For Aquarium: I have not used any cb book for tests yet.
Have you finished your workings with your new book? I am asking
because I'll start a new tests series with 64 bit engines in few weeks.
Best,
