Yes. Stockfish really liked Rc8+

Code: Select all

nfo depth 28 score cp 214 time 325816 nodes 2805797323 nps 8611600 pv c1c8 g8g7 e1c1 g7h6 h2h4 h6h5 g5h7 d6d4 h7f6 h5h6 g2g4 g6g5 c8e8 e5f7 e8e6 d4b2 h4g5 f7g5 f6g8 h6g7 c1c7 g7f8 e6f6 f8g8 f6g6 g8f8 g6g5 b2a3 h1g2 a7a5 g5h5 a3b2 g2h3 b2a1 h5h7 a1h1 h3g3 h1g1 g3f4 g1d4 f4f5 d4d5 f5g6 d5e6 g6g5 e6e5 g5h4
That's +214 centipawns in favor of White.

Anand doesn't seem to have a plan here.

This game seem to be a competition on who can play the worst moves.

But Rc3 might indeed have been a good move (I mean, better than forcing the draw), taking into account that Topalov's reply was perhaps not best, too. According to Stockfish 1.7.1 white is now slightly better again:

Not really the derivitives plus Stockfish are wrong in their evaluation.

They show too much of an advantage. White is better and has chances to win. Now Ng5.

I suppose that he needed to drive the Queen off the a file so that the a pawn could be recouped.

And hope is restored ... I find this to be a very instructive game on Queen vs 2 Rooks imbalances.
