My experience is the exact opposite. I've used fedora for years, and it has worked flawlessly on every laptop I have used. Network. Sound. Graphics. Trackpad. Bluetooth. WiFi. USB. DVD-RW. Power saving. Etc...

It installs by itself after about 60 seconds of start-up questions.
