XBoard for Mac: failure to update board display
When playing a match between two programs, the chessboard display shows the position of the prior game after a new game starts to just before the first move in the new game is made. This is quite noticeable when the program playing White is searching instead of playing from a book.
When a new game starts, the display should be immediately updated with the update not waiting until a move is made.

Yes, it always has been like that, and I always thought this was intentional. In any case, I liked it. It gives me more time to see how the previous game ended. (Now that engines have hash tables, the final moves of a game are often lightning fast.)
The alternative is that you would be staring to the initial position while the engine is thinking on its first move. That does not provide me much information; I know how the initial position look... (One could argue that for Chess960 it would be interesting, though.)
