I would like to see Komodo Dragon crush IM Rozman, in Knight Odds
I know that Komodo Dragon could possibly win 4.5 out of 6 games against IM Rozman, Levy, but it would be more exciting than to see Komodo Dragon losing to a player like GM Ben Finegold, it is time to see Komodo Dragon winning even if the offer is $500.00 for each win and $100.00 for a draw. Who knows he might get 3 draws out of 6 games

I think that it may be more interesting to see weaker players in 90+30 time control against Dragon when Dragon can play at the same time against some players because Dragon does not need all the 90+30 time control to make a move.
If you play against some players at the same time you also get a more reliable rating because there is no danger that the specific opponent is better or worse than the average level of his rating.

The question is if the komodo Dragon team is interested to have a match like it(when Komodo Dragon play at the same time against 6 different players with fide rating 2000-2400) and the only missing thing for it is some sponsor to pay for the humans to play.

Yes that would be more interesting than seeing Komodo Dragon 2.6.x playing against GM of the caliber of GM Finegold just to watch it for 2 to 3 hours and witness how the GM like Finegold force Komodo Dragon 2.6.x to trade pieces at one point or the other during the game with a Knight Odds. You are definitively correct Uri, most of us here want to see Komodo Dragon either drawing or winning a match. Your suggestion could work by having lets say 3 games against a 2000 with Rook Odds, follow by 3 games at Knight Odds against a 2335 Fide rated player like like IM Rozman who at one point was rated 2421 by fide in the same day within 30 minutes apart, and if Komodo Dragon win against IM Rozman all 3 games, to arrange another day against a 2400 rated opponent 3 more games. Later on in 6 more months I believe that Komodo Dragon 2.6.x could be ready to get an even score against GM Finegold, but at the moment we the customers would like to see a positive score against lower rated players. https://ratings.fide.com/profile/2039877/chartUri Blass wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 7:56 am The question is if the komodo Dragon team is interested to have a match like it(when Komodo Dragon play at the same time against 6 different players with fide rating 2000-2400) and the only missing thing for it is some sponsor to pay for the humans to play.

Your ideas of rooks odds and knight odds can work at rapid chess but with 90+30 time control that I prefer against average of something near 2200 fide rating(different levels in the range 2000-2400) I believe rook odds is too much and I am even not sure if komodo dragon is going to win the match only with knight odds.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 3:35 pmYes that would be more interesting than seeing Komodo Dragon 2.6.x playing against GM of the caliber of GM Finegold just to watch it for 2 to 3 hours and witness how the GM like Finegold force Komodo Dragon 2.6.x to trade pieces at one point or the other during the game with a Knight Odds. What is the point of playing knight odds with a lower rated IM than Andras Toth, whom we beat 4.5 to 1.5? Just that he has a bigger internet following?Chessqueen wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 5:34 am I know that Komodo Dragon could possibly win 4.5 out of 6 games against IM Rozman, Levy, but it would be more exciting than to see Komodo Dragon losing to a player like GM Ben Finegold, it is time to see Komodo Dragon winning even if the offer is $500.00 for each win and $100.00 for a draw. We would be willing to do it, but not to sponsor it. Playing six games at once is of course no problem for Komodo when giving knight odds, it won't hurt the results measurably, if at all. The difference between Rapid and Standard chess for humans is probably in the range of 100 to 200 elo, call it 150. If Komodo Dragon is performing at 2425 FIDE giving knight odds in Rapid, it should perform about 2275 at Classical, so maybe a better elo range for the opponents is 2150 to 2400. The concern for this sort of event is possible cheating, especially if there are any cash prizes. We've been careful so far only to play matches with well-known players who would be very unlikely to cheat.Uri Blass wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 7:56 am The question is if the komodo Dragon team is interested to have a match like it(when Komodo Dragon play at the same time against 6 different players with fide rating 2000-2400) and the only missing thing for it is some sponsor to pay for the humans to play.

Re: I would like to see Komodo Dragon crush IM Rozman, in Knight Odds
Another idea we have been experimenting with in private testing is to play a knight odds match with a strong opponent but with this extra pair of rules: Dragon must always open 1.e4, alternating knights, but the opponent can never play the same first move twice with a given knight missing. Since there are at least six very sensible good replies to 1.e4 with either knight missing, up to 12 games can be played this way with no repetitions of openings and no chance for the human to play a better move in a precise position based on what he learned in an earlier game. This is still knight odds, but a bit more challenging for the human and a bit more interesting for the spectators, I think. What do you all think? Would this still be accepted as a valid knight odds match? With this rule I think we might be able to have even chances with 2500 FIDE GMs who are not blitz/rapid specialists.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 3:35 pmYes that would be more interesting than seeing Komodo Dragon 2.6.x playing against GM of the caliber of GM Finegold just to watch it for 2 to 3 hours and witness how the GM like Finegold force Komodo Dragon 2.6.x to trade pieces at one point or the other during the game with a Knight Odds. I thought about games not in the internet but games OTB with an arbiter to prevent people to cheat.lkaufman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 6:40 pmWe would be willing to do it, but not to sponsor it. The question is how to make the moves of dragon-komodo and if we need some human operators to send the moves of the human players to the komodo team and to play the moves of the komodo team OTB in this case or if there is some electronic board that can do the job.
