Re: some details about planned dragon-human match
Actually I made a typographical error when I posted the money that he got donated during the Komodo Dragon Knight Odds, I counted $9,390.00 after the 5th game, but somehow I posted $1,390, now I noticed that I made a Typographical error.

Re: some details about planned dragon-human match
That's quite a lot of donations; do we have any way to compare that to how much his typical shows take in in donations? Of course this was a four hour show, so assuming the sixth game took in a similar amount per game to the first five that works out to about $5600 per each two hour segment, so this is the figure to compare to an average two hour show.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 5:35 pm Actually I made a typographical error when I posted the money that he got donated during the Komodo Dragon Knight Odds, I counted $9,390.00 after the 5th game, but somehow I posted $1,390, now I noticed that I made a Typographical error.![]()

Re: some details about planned dragon-human match
In the next 2:30 minutes I count
9.99+9.99+20+10+9+4.2+9.99+9.99+49.99+3+3+9.99+20+99.99+6+49.920+9+5+3+2.15+2+9.99+9.99+20+9.99+9.99+20+10+9=465.23 dollars
In the next 2:30 minutes
4.20+9.99+9.99+49.99+3+3+9.99+20+99.99+6+49.99+20+9+5+3+2.15+2+9.99+9.99+20+9.99+9.99+20+10+9+4.2+9.99+9.99+49.99+3=483.42 dollars
Ben complained about not hearing a noise of a donation but later he started to hear things.
next minute we have 3+9.99+20+99.99+6+49.99+20+9+5+3+2.15
at second 617 I heard a noise together with the first 99.99 in the sum
at second 630 I heard a noise together with the second 20 in the sum
at second 646 another noise together with 2.15
at second 659 another noise when no number is written and maybe noise is connected to numbers that we will see later.
Number of noises is clearly smaller than number of donations that I practically see so I am not sure what does the noise mean and I am not sure if my counting is correct.
9.99+9.99+20+10+9+4.2+9.99+9.99+49.99+3+3+9.99+20+99.99+6+49.920+9+5+3+2.15+2+9.99+9.99+20+9.99+9.99+20+10+9=465.23 dollars

Re: some details about planned dragon-human match
All that I know is that the same day of GM Finegold vs Komodo Dragon Knight Odds, GM Finegold 2 hours prior he was already on his regular show making Money by getting donations, so he probably on that day alone made over $15,000.00, and that is besides what you paid him to Play Komodod Dragon. Therefore, GM Finegold would be happy to accept another Komodo Dragon Challenge in the near futurelkaufman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 9:22 pmThat's quite a lot of donations; do we have any way to compare that to how much his typical shows take in in donations? Note: I wonder if he pay taxes at the end of the years for receiving donations

Re: some details about planned dragon-human match
I wonder what is the motivation for people to donate so much money? I'm just curious. It's not like donating to feed the poor or cure cancer, he is obviously doing well, and since you can watch for free why would people be motivated to donate more than a token amount? I'm just not familiar enough with today's online world to understand this. If there is some way we could finance Dragon vs. GM events by donations we could do a lot more of them or more interesting formats involving multiple GMs, but I don't really know what makes this happen. Is it just having a certain type of personality? There are lots of GMs who can explain chess very well, but most are not making a lot of money as streamers.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 12:02 amAll that I know is that the same day of GM Finegold vs Komodo Dragon Knight Odds, GM Finegold 2 hours prior he was already on his regular show making Money by getting donations, so he probably on that day alone made over $15,000.00, and that is besides what you paid him to Play Komodod Dragon. I believe that what most people who follow GM Finegold stream like about him is that he has a childish grown up personality. and say some stupid comments that only a teenager would say online, therefore a lot of young chess followers connect with that type of personalitylkaufman wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 12:55 amI wonder what is the motivation for people to donate so much money? Simply watch and listen to his comments carefully :
Here is the video of game 1
Here is the video of game 2
For instance compare how Kingscrusher makes his comments being so serious which is just about right for his age

Re: some details about planned dragon-human match
time of commenting the game that most of it is playing the game:
35:22 game 1
35:29 game 2
37:08 game 3
36:15 game 4
40:19 game 5
42:20 game 6
Total time is more than 200 minutes
Considering it seems he got an average of almost 200 dollars per minute(and I tried to look also at the numbers in some random minutes that are not near the beginnings) then it seems that he got donations of something near 40000 dollars during the match.
I am not sure if it is correct and maybe simply the same people who donate appear more than once in the top of the screen.
I often see them with the same donation but sometimes I can see them also with a different donation so I am not sure.

Maybe people who donate more get an option to see some things that not everybody can see but even in this case I do not understand why
it seems that people donate not one time but many times during the videos.
Maybe the information about donators is simply misleading and every donator appear with the same donation multiple times.
