Hi Carlos, I see WChess 1.06 in your Promo League 10. Is that the Kittinger program or just the same name? I thought WChess by Kittinger was close to master rating.
Hi mloftus and Vinvin,
According to CCRL Blitz rating list, WChess 1.06 is 2367 ELO, around The Crazy Bishop 0052 level, meaning WChess should be in PL4. I am not sure why I am getting these results. I checked the version I have and it's the same that the one RWBC offers for download. Maybe, I am not configuring it the way it should be, I'll research about it.
Best,
Carlos
I am just seeing this now after your PM about WChess.
Some facts need to be corrected here, I don't offer WChess for download via RWBC.
I just provide a download link in the XB/UCI chronology, but the download comes from a Norbert R. Leisner archive.
(after Franz' original zippyshare link expired)
Only if this archive would die too, I would consider adding it to the RWBC download site.
Here is the original talkchess thread for making it available by Franz and this also informs you have to use the uci setup,
otherwise it won't work correctly. BTW you could have asked CCRL too ;-)
I have no clue if it really uses two cores in the wb2uci setup (your PM questioN), but I think CCRL would have noticed since long?

Yes, I have installed it as a winboard engine. As an uci engine, it is much stronger.
About the core/thread use, maybe I didn't explain it well. WChess always use a thread no matter if it is his turn or not (WB is set to ponder off and only 1 thread for each engine.) As I told you, it seems is not pondering. but it grabs it anyway.

Ok, now I know what you mean Carlos (always using one core/thread), but you should ask probably at the CCRL forum or open a new thread here in talkchess, what experience they have with that issue and if it can be avoided.
I don't remember if I ever have tested WChess at all, but if there really is such an issue (with best setup) I will mention it in my chronology.
Just for now I am a bit low on time for investigating it.
