Hi Graham,

in this group of engines ... xiphos is the hardest opponent for Wasp.
Better to see with longer time controls.

Place 1 is very nice in this really very strong group of engines.
I like all of the opponents you are using for your tourney.

Around place 15 - 30 in the World it's a very hard fight between all of these engines.

I think with the next release version of Wasp ... Wasp is definitiv stronger as xiphos with longer time controls.
The next release will be around 50 Elo stronger as Wasp 5.20 NN and after all I know soon available.

xiphos is really a great chess program, no doubt about it.
Maybe the programmer of xiphos find interest to develop newer versions.

Thanks again and good luck to all programmers in fighting for better places!

:-)

Go engines go ...

:-)

Best

Thank you Graham!

50 Elo more for Wasp soon available, Wasp get more strength since a long time, from version to version.
But to hold a place in TOP-20 CPU-Engines is really an order.

The others are not sleeping and that is fantastic!!
Means, the others are working very hard on his engines!

Looking how strong Halogen 10.23 dev is, around +200 Elo.
The next rofChade ... around +200 Elo.

Great work by all the programmers in "Computer-Chess-NN" times.

Graham, we have a lot to do!
Fact is ... John and I are very happy about all the strong opponents.

Best

So much for those who were trumpeting that computer chess was dead. :)

Hi Graham,

for the most the "Neural Network" situation at first was unclear!
People thought ... with "Neural Network" all the engines do the same.
Programmers are working very tricky with nice ideas.

In my humble opinion the style of engines is - in most of cases - the same with "Neural Network".
The reason for me to test NNSf (Neural Network based on Stockfish) also.

All in all ...
Computer chess was pushed in the last two years!!

It is good that we have the Stockfish project.
The hard licence I dislike only.
The rest of the project I like a lot.

Keep up your good work with all the interesting tourneys.
The tourneys and the efforts around the tourneys ... over such a long time ... the big deal from CCRL.

Tourneys are much more interesting as to looking in a rating-list.
Your league system is also very nice for looking and "join the fever".

Best
