An Online University only for Chess Players

Post by Chessqueen »

In Norway they are planning to create the first online University for chess players, they will be able to travel as they play chess and use a couple of hours online whenever they have a chance during the day to either get their assignments and to report their home works same goes to take an online test. Students with less than a GM will have to complete their regular profession as they have selected, but once they obtain the IM norm they will be giving an Associate Degree in Chess, and for those with a GM Norm automatically they will get a Bachelor in Chess saying with all the rights and privileges thereto pertaining Chess players Name and Last has gained all necessary knowledges in chess to obtained the Bachelor degrees in Chess; and if they reached and become the World champion, automatically they will be giving a Doctoral Degree in Chess.

Note: I believe all this was planned to give Carlsen a Doctoral Degree in Chess; but they should also give past World Chess Champions like Kasparov, Karpov Anand, Kramnik that are still living etc.... the Doctoral Degree as well

I believe the main reason why most top chess players that reached the highest GM status and are invited to top world tournaments are not interested in getting a Bachelor Degree is because once they reach the very top they can make more Money than most person with a Bachelor Degree. For Instance this 16 years old prodigy GM Praggnanandhaa is getting invitations to top chess tournaments and is competing with the very best top players in the World, and is already earning US$ 61250 per tournament as he did here. https://www.chessbase.in/news/Meltwater ... y-8-report
