I got a Wasp "trojan" message!

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

Wasp 5.50
trojan.generic.HgEASsEA
Heur.Generic.H8oAk9wA

Can't find any information about it.
First message I got from a Trojan in all the released Wasp versions on my site.

Message comes from an for me unknown scanner from a good known user.

I checked Wasp versions with four different scanner on different on my systems before release.
Check that again today and can not anything found.

1. NOD32 ... the scanner gave 1time a message for all the engines i tested in the last years.
An older Counter version!

Here and there few warning messages from the other three scanner ... but in all cases all is absolute OK.

2. Norton 360
3. F-Secure
4. McAffee

Any other user have such a problem with Wasp?

Best
Frank

Hi Frank,

Check with "Virus Total". It checks with 50+ scanners.

Kaspersky found two in the downloaded zip file but it automatically deleted them leaving only the clean files.

Checked that now with 3 others TOP-10 scanner.
Again nothing found.

Perhaps the embedded netfile (new for Wasp)?
Perhaps different scanner not like that?

I will send John a short information, but no idea how I can solve the situation for the user (is member here).

For Admin X:
Could you check that with Wasp 5.54 NN dev.?
I will send it to you ...

Probably virus scanners looking for various patterns of bytes that match those in binaries known to have viruses.

John is working on it!

For the others:
Of course, no Trojan in Wasp!

:-)

For Ted (AdminX):
I sent Wasp 5.54 NN dev for a short scan test.
Thank you for your helps!!

And sorry for my messages ... to the others here!
But in a group we can solve such a problem very easy!
