Funny, so it appears that you do know a thing about yourself. Wasn't it you who "theorized" from a German relative that a lawsuit never took place?
Homework assignment for you: go back and find my statement about this, then correct your remark. (Hint #1: it wasn’t a relative.)
But really, is there any point to this? The facts of the case are pretty clear. All you, Andy and Sopel have is your snarky obfuscating posts.

You've derived your facts from Ronald's statements because you agree with them.
In past threads, you spend the whole time lamenting that only a court of law will be able to decide.
Funny how that changes.

Unfortunately there is little information circulating around but even Ronald seems to have already see through the clouds that the lawsuit was never about interpreting GPL or termination. So, from someone who decided to write "takeaways" from a hearing, did he not even hear what were announced as the claims of the lawsuit?

He’s knowledgeable and makes reasonable points. Why wouldn’t you agree with him?
Nothing has been decided (not withstanding noob’s confusion about criminal vs civil law). Let’s see what happens at the next hearing.

Enlighten me. What were SF’s claims and CB’s counterclaims?

Aha! Google indeed showed his name in connection with Fritz 18, but I did not realise he is the author of Ginkgo.
Fritz 18 is just a rebranded Ginkgo, just like Fritz 15-16 were just rebranded Rybkas.
Your beliefs create your reality, so be careful what you wish for.

No, the answer isn't clear at all. Stockfish has been much better than anything chessbase sells for a long, long while, since the times Stockfish passed Rybka 4. And people still buy chessbase products.
I bought ChessBase products in the past, when Fritz was actually still Fritz, by Frans Morsch. (My last version is Deep Fritz 13, but I run it under the Fritz 11 GUI.) I also have the last ChessBase version that doesn't require activation (and could be updated by just downloading an executable with the update; 10, or 11; I'll have to look it up). Fortunately Fritz 11 and ChessBase run fine in Wine.
Since Chessbase started with the cloud nonsense and over-the-top activations, and the retirement of Frans Morsch, I've just not upgraded anymore. The GUI's do what I need them to do, and if I want a stronger engine than Deep Fritz 13, there are plenty available.
It's a pity that there just aren't any other products, especially with regard to databases, that have ChessBase's capabilities.
