WARNING: Square Off Pro...

Post by Steve Maughan »

Since I've been playing a lot of on-line chess lately I purchased a Square Off Pro board. It's a great idea but so far it's been a great disappointment — and the customer service is none existent. After about four weeks it's stopped working and I'm unable to upgrade the firmware. When I initiate a new game it asks me to set up the pieces in the starting position and won't recognize that they're already set up. I've tried multiple times to contact Square Off over a three week period — so far nothing. The product is a nice idea but clearly not for prime time — be warned!

Steve

P.S. Any idea of how to fix this are greatly appreciated

I have the same issues, especially with their nonexistent customer service. Got busy and haven’t tried fixing it for a few months.
Fat Titz by Stockfish, the engine with the bodaciously big net. Remember: size matters. If you want to learn more about this engine just google for "Fat Titz".

I thought you were talking about the board that moves it's own pieces. I am surprised to hear it is this one.

Yes Ted — that's the one. No customer service at all.

Nice illegal position!

How white managed to checkmate with a double check (Qe1+ and Nf3+) without being a discovered check? I mean, the white knight on f3 should had been on f2 or g3, but it is impossible to reach f3 in one move from those squares.
