Post by flok »

For a couple of years I collected 8/16 bit computerchess games. For c64, msx, spectrum, etc.
I'm now selling them all.

Great collection.

I have 2 questions, maybe you experienced it yourself:

1. The strongest chess engine from whittington on the z80 based plattforms is superchess(3.5?) or clock chess ?!

I wonder if clock chess is a superchess clone with permanent brain. From my experience the superchess versions had no permanent brain.
On the other hand i did not test all versions.

What do you think ?

2. For the acorn risc machines i do have cyber chess too.

Do you know any other strong chess engine on the risc pcs , archimedes machines ?

3. what do you think is the strongest chess engine on MSX computers ?

4. what do you think is the strongest chess engine on Atari 800 XL or atari 130

5. did you experience enterprise 64/128 for chess ??
What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

I only tested ultra chess (on the msx) by converting it to UCI (via the openmsx emulator interface).
That was fun.
It was rather weak.
