This one seems kind of tough.

1.b6!! axb6 2.Nxh4 Bxd4 And now another test position...find the move that draws here {this is much easier than the first position}:

I'll reveal the source of the position later, unless of course someone recognizes it.
Test Position, find the drawing resource 1.b6!!

Sting doesn't get the drawing eval soon, but the line with 1.b6 looks ok, e.g. as for the main point 3.Ng3+!peter wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 11:08 am after some Forward- Backward:

Hi Peter,
Indeed it looks like Sting does find the correct sequence of moves. The first position is from a 2019 study by Yuri Bazlov after black's 10th move in the main line, and the second position is after black's 12th move in the main line.
As you are well aware I have been looking at studies recently to see if they can be cooked and I came across this one that the engines thought was a possible cook, but after looking at it very carefully I found out that the engines were wrong. It seems that the studies that are from about 2015 or newer are very difficult to find cooks in presumably because the composers are using the fine programs we have today to help them create their studies. I haven't found any cooks from about 2015 or newer, but I'm not saying that none exist.
Here is the pgn of the study:

Re: Test Position, find the drawing resource 1.b6!!
Sting yet is on the rigth track at once again:acase wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 3:40 pm Indeed it looks like Sting does find the correct sequence of moves.

BTW, I hadn't noticed the output of the last but one posting before was with 16 of 30 possible threads "only".

Re: Test Position, find the drawing resource 1.b6!!
Amazing position. Very hard to solve.acase wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 4:06 am This one seems kind of tough.

1.b6!! axb6 2.Nxh4 Bxd4 And now another test position...find the move that draws here {this is much easier than the first position}:
[fen]nq6/1PpB4/1pK5/4B3/3bk2N/5p2/8/7N w - - 0 3[/fen]
I'll reveal the source of the position later, unless of course someone recognizes it.
Interestingly, Deep Junior Yokohama found quickly the move 1.b6!! , but sees no further correct continuation...
